Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
Q72 helps golfers record shot quality, conventional golf scores, and improvement over time. This policy explains what Q72 LLC handles and why.
Information Q72 handles
- Account information: email address, Firebase account identifier, and sign-in information handled by Firebase Authentication. Q72 does not receive or store your password.
- Golf information: rounds, course and tee names, dates, notes, shots, contact and target choices, putts, penalties, results, streak results, and record timestamps.
- Q Card scans: three photos captured through the iPhone camera scanner and sent through Q72's secured Cloudflare service to OpenAI to convert marked bubbles into editable round information.
- Technical information: Firebase and Cloudflare may process device, network, security, request, and service usage information needed to authenticate users, operate the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
- Owner access records: when authorized Q72 personnel open an individual round for customer support or troubleshooting, Q72 records the owner account, user account identifier, round identifier, action, and time.
Q72 does not currently use advertising SDKs, sell personal information, or use personal information for third-party advertising.
How information is used
Q72 uses information to save and synchronize rounds, keep each user's rounds private, calculate and display Q72 results and trends, read a Q Card when requested, provide support, protect the service, and understand basic service usage.
Storage and service providers
- Account and round data is stored with Google Firebase.
- Q Card images are transmitted through Cloudflare and processed by OpenAI when scanning is requested.
- Rounds are stored locally on the device so manual entry and saved rounds can work without internet access.
Q72 does not retain Q Card photos in its round database. Q72 sends scan requests with OpenAI response storage disabled. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default, but scan content may remain in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless longer retention is legally or safety-required. Q72 logs model usage totals without logging the card images.
Sharing and owner access
Q72 shares information only with service providers that operate the app and website, when a user requests a feature such as Q Card scanning, when required by law, or to protect users and the service. Authorized Q72 personnel may open individual round details only for customer support and troubleshooting. Each view is restricted and audited.
Offline use and synchronization
Rounds can be entered and stored on the iPhone without internet access. When a signed-in user's internet service returns, Q72 synchronizes changes with the private Firebase account. Q Card scanning requires internet access.
Deleting an account
Users can open Your Account → Delete Account inside Q72. After password confirmation, Q72 deletes the Firebase account, live cloud round records and revision history, and that account's rounds stored on the device. This cannot be undone.
Retention
Account information, rounds, and round revisions are kept while the account is open. Account deletion immediately removes the account and associated live cloud and on-device round data. Daily Firebase backups are retained for seven days, so deleted data may remain in an access-restricted backup for up to seven days before expiring. Owner-access audits are retained for 12 months, operational logs for 30 days, and support emails for up to two years.
Children and families
Q72 is a general Sports app designed for golfers and families, including junior golfers. Q72 is not offered through Apple's Kids Category. A parent or guardian must create and manage the account for a child under 13. Children under 13 may not create or manage an account themselves. Q72 collects an account email address and does not collect a birth date or child profile.
Security
Q72 uses authenticated Firebase access, per-user database rules, encrypted network connections, restricted service credentials, and audited owner access. No service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
Q72 may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to support@q72golf.com.
